Porcelain veneers
Porcelain veneers are custom-crafted in a dental laboratory from high-strength ceramic. They are the most durable option, highly stain-resistant, and reflect light in a way that beautifully mimics natural enamel. Porcelain veneers typically last 10 to 20 years with proper care and require two appointments: one to prepare the teeth and take impressions, and one to bond the finished veneers.
Composite veneers
Composite veneers are sculpted directly onto the tooth in a single appointment using tooth-coloured resin. They are more affordable, and a great way to preview the result before committing to porcelain. They are less stain-resistant than porcelain and typically last 5 to 7 years before a touch-up or replacement.
The Veneer Process at Foundation Dental

Consultation. We talk through your goals, assess your teeth, and recommend the type and number of veneers that will get you to the result you are after.

Tooth preparation (porcelain only). A small amount of enamel (approximately 0.5mm) is gently removed to make room for the veneer. A temporary veneer is placed while your permanent ones are crafted in the lab - approximately 2 weeks.
3.
Bonding. Your permanent veneers are bonded with a strong dental adhesive and set with a curing light. We make any final shape and bite adjustments, and your new smile is complete.

Porcelain veneers require removing a small amount of enamel, which is a permanent change. Composite veneers may require a small amount of removal as well, but in many cases can be done without. Your dentist will explain exactly what preparation is involved for your specific case
